Almost a year's gone by
since last I wrote.
Many things have changed.
Some have stayed the same
but seem different
from a new perspective.
When a loved one grows ill
and dies
it's like you're caught in a maze
and it takes a long
long
time to get
out of it.
Sometimes
you dont want
to get out
of it,
because
you think
you'll never
get back to the place
where they are.
Well, there is in fact
no way back.
If it took me another year
to get back to the place
where my mom was breathing
and smiling
and sitting up
and being alive,
well if that were possible,
it would never be the same,
anyway.
I cherish the moments
I had with her.
What a joyous experience
to have known her.
How lucky I was
to have her in my life.
Everyday I walk this earth
is blessed by her having been
in my life.
I am out of the Maze
and I am amazed.

clouds before me
Puffs of vapor
we are
before I breathed
they moved and changed.
Before I knew to look up
they gazed down
wept
restored the earth
and human souls.
Before I found images
they shifted and blurred
reflecting sunlight
and thoughts.
Puffs of vapor
to us, as are we to gods
but I know so little
of the truth
of clouds.
we are
before I breathed
they moved and changed.
Before I knew to look up
they gazed down
wept
restored the earth
and human souls.
Before I found images
they shifted and blurred
reflecting sunlight
and thoughts.
Puffs of vapor
to us, as are we to gods
but I know so little
of the truth
of clouds.

Scotchtaped Words
Stuck 'em together
Sticky and stuck
Tricky and bad luck
Stick'em on the
Discernment Board
Across from the pencil sharpener
and chalkboard erasers
Don't misplace 'em
or mix 'em up backwards
those sticky tricky
Words
Made up some words
Today
Redefined a few
Too
Silence, You Pestilence
My teacher yammered
Not my little place
to break up the structure
My silly smug face
caused hers to bluster
laclustre -- ancient
her Words
Definitions get the best of 'em
Critiques like to laugh at 'em
Stories use and abuse 'em
Poetry missed half of 'em
Words
dont think they mind
tricky sticky
sometimes icky
Mmm hhmmmm
